Timothy McGough

Tim McGough (2010-2011) served as our 30th Grand Knight.  He adopted Supreme's theme that year, "To Serve, Not to be Served" for the Council.  Charity and service to others was a central theme for the Council.  The Council was awarded the Star Council Award recognizing outstanding achievement in service activities, membership, and insurance.  The Membership Team did a great job with a net increase of 21 new members; including many who went on to serve in leadership positions.    He standardized preparation of the yearly Audit creating simple directions for future audit use and updated the audit files from previous years.  He began the creation of Standard Operating Procedures for many of the Council Activities and Reporting procedures, an effort continued under successor WGK, John Bavoso.  He changed the meeting format to serve light refreshments after the meetings instead of full dinners late at night, and instituted quarterly dinner gatherings before the meeting to enhance fellowship opportunities. The 30th anniversary was a yearlong celebration including The San Alphonso's Retreat with 38 Knights including 11 PGK's attending.  The 30th Anniversary Gala in January, 2011 was attended by 200 Knights and guests.  It was a wonderful evening of dinner, dancing, and celebration.  The Gala Team did a fantastic job.  Special guest that evening was PGK Dan Rossi who was elected Secretary to the NJ State Council.
