We grew in terms of activities, adding the Parish Community Breakfast, Mass of Remembrance and Ice Cream Social, while co-sponsoring the Parish's first Family Retreat. And we grew, along with all Parish organizations, in our spiritual linkage with each other. Every Parish group was asked to incorporate the year's theme "Sharing Our Gifts, Lighting Our World" into their meetings; we chose to read a scripture verse related to "light" at each meeting. On a sad note, we lost three Brother Knights during the Columbian year: Eugene Frein, Louis Monaco and PGK James O'Connor. Mostly, for me it was a year of amazement to see the selfless, Christian outreach of the terrific people associated with our Council. And on a personal note, I was given the gift of seeing the true meaning of "family" up close. The tireless support of my sons PJ and Jonathan, and especially my wife, Lori (with many newsletter mailings being just the beginning), along with the hard work of so many wonderful Council families, is truly what made everything accomplished during the year possible.Columbian Year.
