Our eleventh Grand Knight, Kermit E. Getz, felt honored to follow in the footsteps of so many great past Grand Knights. Many of the council's progress continued to flourish with the support of our brother Knights and an excellent Deputy Grand Knight. It was a year that saw the council distribute 25 food baskets at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter to the needy, the Christmas wreath program almost double in sales, the oldies dance top 360 in attendance for the first time since its conception, and the monthly business meetings held to little more than an hour while maintaining good productivity. The council started effectively two new programs - the periodic manning of the soup kitchen at St. Francis Church and the personal distribution, by a brother Knight, of the roses and rosaries at the baptisms at St. Gregory's. If the year held any sad notes it was the passing of brother Al Thiel, who was a pillar to our council.
